Data Engineer

The Chevron Business Support Center (BASSC) located in Buenos Aires (Puerto Madero), Argentina, is accepting online applications for the position Data Engineer. Successful candidates will join the Data Engineering team which is part of a successful multifunction service center with a workforce of more than 1000 employees delivering business services and solutions across the globe. 
A Data Engineer designs data products and data pipelines that are resilient to change, modular, flexible, scalable, reusable and cost effective. In addition, the Data Engineer utilizes software engineering principles to deploy and maintain fully automated data transformation pipelines that combine a large variety of storage and computation technologies to handle a distribution of data types and volumes in support of data architecture design.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: Understanding the business use of data and the stakeholders requirements to support work processes and strategic business objectivesLeverage data and software engineering techniques, data science to create business value through data accessibility (includes data ingestion, data preparation and analytics processing)Identifying, acquiring, cleansing/preparing, storing data and developing reusable data products aligned with defined architecture patternsEnabling data scientists, making data available for advanced analytics models, and contributing to advanced analytics modelsWorking with data analysts and architects to scale and deploy solutions including models, documentation, training, integrationContributing to the inner source development of foundational tools, and/or the deployment of technical servicesRequired Qualifications: Knowledge and/or experience with data acquisition, preparation and validation; data movement and transformation; data modeling and software engineering using technologies such as: Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks, Synapse and SQL expertise. Preferred Qualifications: Python and Ansible experience.Relocation Options: Relocation will not be considered.
