Job Overview

Optimization of line manufacturing processes in refer of worker utilization. Focus MTM analyses, line balancing, head count calculation and create production plan. Function as industrial engineer instructor.

Responsibilities:

Allocates staffing, equipment, and materials
Analyses work content and manufacturing steps via MTM system
Alignment and reporting to central OPE to align reporting methods
Create reports that detail efficiency (hours per vehicle, utilization, value added/non value added work content breakdown, OT, etc.)
Create headcount calculation costs (direct and indirect team members) on monthly and annual base
Create work instruction using official Daimler tools
Head count calculation and project head count calculations for new products
Input required data from the departments. Reporting to working groups and management teams
Networking; Independent setup of contacts with internal / external Daimler partners and worldwide external business partners
Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings and assignment required meetings
Preparation of higher level upper management presentation
Production optimization / line balancing
Resolves non-routine issues
Responsible for the job related budget
Support implementation new planning tools
Support training concepts and training class if required
Will perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelors degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, or related engineering field strongly preferred.
3 plus years of relevant experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Able to perform the essential functions of the job.
Very good technical understanding
Handling of complex systems
Very good communication skills with line technician production line
Hands on skills, Good presentation skills
Completed training in Daimler MTM and Daimler systems is a plus.

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that assembles Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC has invested more than 500 million U.S. dollars in the new Sprinter plant, which officially opened in 2018. Today the MBV facility provides more than 1,600 jobs and supports at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers. More than 200,000 Sprinter and Metris vans have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations across the U.S. since 2006. Therefore, MBV celebrates a 15-year legacy of SKD production in 2021. The U.S. is the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
