Responsibilities:

Use knowledge of, and hands-on experience with: manufacturing methods/procedures and process technology; programming in booth or work cell; off-line simulations; project management; equipment installation; design and implementation of Continuous Improvement theses with savings; troubleshoot, instruct repair techniques, and assist with root cause analysis; read and create blueprints and schematics; Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) (such as OMRON, AllenBradley or Siemens); 3D-Computer Aided Design (CAD) (such as SolidWorks, Catia or Siemens NX); pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and computer controlled systems; process devices (such as motor drives, sensors, AC/DC converters, lifts, and conveyors); paint applications (such as chemicals, sprays, filtration, pumps, degreaser, hydrocyclones, rectifier process, anodes, anolyte systems, ultra-filtration, Deionized (DI)-water, and industrial paint oven-curing); joining technologies, clinching, gluing and fluid technology; and SAP Insight Provider (SAPipro), to develop, implement, and improve the operation of equipment. Act as interface between maintenance technicians and engineering to ensure the maintenance of equipment in production. Implement an established maintenance program and maintain detailed maintenance records. Develop best practices to improve equipment capacity, quality and reliability. Repair, adjust, and maintain production equipment, machinery, or instruments in cooperation with internal and external staff to ensure that it functions reliably and complies with process specifications. Coordinate activities (including, but not limited to: Preventative Maintenance Schedules (PM), Total Productive maintenance (TPM) and problem solving) of third-party contractors, vendors, or suppliers related to the maintenance field. Investigate complex problems, analyze root causes and derive resolutions. Use 8D Problem Solving Process to ensure sustainable quality products. Develop operational strategies to achieve energy and financial objectives. Participate in budget preparation and monitor expenses and profitability. Ensure equipment uptime, Mean-Time-To-Repair (MTTR), Mean-Time-Between-Failures (MTBF), and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Evaluate current production activities and drive improvements. Ensure that equipment meets required specifications and quality standards. Drive and implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards. Develop and contribute to product and process quality design testing methods. Develop planning standards, methods, and procedures to maintain robust PM, TPM processes as well as robust containments and countermeasures for equipment downtime. Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes. Propose and manage medium-scale projects from beginning to end. Scope and manage large capital investment projects (>$5M). Collaborate and take over responsibilities with other departments in preparing scope of work including project requirements, milestones, deliverables, end products, documents and reports. Support implementation of new equipment. Drive the implementation of continuous improvement processes for efficiency to create a Lean Manufacturing environment. Train and support less experienced engineers. Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings. Will perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Automotive, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field plus five (5) years of experience evidencing demonstrable ability to perform the stated job duties. In lieu of the Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Automotive, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related and five (5) years of experience, employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, and experience. New hires subject to drug test and background check. 10% international and domestic travel may be required.
