Accounts Payable Officer

The Company

Robert Half is currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join a well-respected and highly regarded employer of choice in the wholesale industry, boasting an outstanding office location in Abbotsford, easily accessible by car or public transport.

Commencing ASAP, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team environment where you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the accurate and timely execution of accounts payable procedures across the business. The organisation offers a hybrid work arrangement of 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home.

This position is offered on an initial 3-month temporary contract and has the potential to transition to permanent employment, although not guaranteed.

The Role

Working within a friendly team environment your varied role will include:

• Processing of supplier invoices with attention to detail and accuracy
• Matching and verifying purchase orders to invoices
• Communicating with suppliers to resolve queries.
• Accounts Reconciliation
• Maintaining vendor accounts
• Vendor statement reconciliation
• Scheduling and preparing payments
• Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts payable

Your Profile

To be successful in this role you will have a minimum of 12 months' experience in a high-volume transactional environment. You will need to demonstrate prior practical experience working with ERP accounting software, as well as possess an intermediate level of Excel skills (pivot tables/ V-lookups).

Excellent communication skills, a customer service approach, and the ability to work to deadlines are also required.
