Role description:
We're seeking an Assistant Fleet Underwriter to join our team. If you have a strong willingness to learn and develop, then this is your opportunity to step into the insurance industry and build a long and rewarding career with IAG.

This role offers a strong early‑career pathway into underwriting, where you’ll learn to assess and process small to medium insurance risks, manage policy changes and documentation, and ensure accuracy and compliance. Working closely with Underwriters, BDMs, and Risk Partners, you’ll support brokers and customers, help strengthen relationships, and contribute to service improvements while building key skills for a future in insurance.

The hours for the role are Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm with a requirement to be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week following our comprehensive office-based 4 week training period. Initial 12-month fixed term role based in Meanjin (Brisbane).

Early Career Pathways Description:
You’ll be joining our Early Career Pathways initiative, a supportive space for people beginning their journey in the insurance industry. Through structured learning, personalised development and real hands‑on experience, we’ll help set you up for success whether you’re a high school leaver or have limited to no prior experience.
