Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst with strong
exposure to Financial Services / Superannuation domain and hands‑on knowledge
of Microsoft Power BI. The role focuses on business analysis, data
interpretation, and insight generation, working closely with business
stakeholders to translate financial and member‑related data into meaningful
insights, dashboards, and reports.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial concepts,
superannuation operations, regulatory reporting, and the ability to use Power
BI as a tool to support analytical outcomes rather than purely as a development
platform.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Data Analysis
Work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and
finance teams to understand analytical requirements across superannuation /
financial reporting.
Analyze large and complex datasets related to member transactions,
contributions, balances, investments, fees, insurance, and regulatory metrics.
Translate business questions into analytical frameworks, KPIs, and reporting
metrics.
Perform root‑cause analysis, trend analysis, and variance analysis to support
business decisions.
Domain‑Specific Responsibilities (Superannuation / Finance)
Understand and analyze data related to:
Member lifecycle (onboarding, contributions, rollovers, exits)
Fund performance and investment reporting
Fees, insurance, and compliance‑driven metrics
Regulatory and operational reporting (e.g., APRA‑style reporting concepts)
Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to ensure reports
meet governance and audit standards.
Collaboration & Documentation
Document business definitions, KPIs, assumptions, and data logic
clearly.
Support UAT, validation, and sign‑off with business stakeholders.
Act as a bridge between business users and technical teams (data engineering,
platform teams).
Required Skills &
Experience
Core Skills
7–10 years of experience as a Data Analyst / Business Analyst in
Financial Services or Superannuation domain.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial
datasets.
Strong experience in Power BI for analytical reporting and dashboards.
Solid understanding of financial concepts, metrics, and reporting structures.
Strong SQL skills for data analysis and validation.
Power BI Skills
Experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
Working knowledge of DAX for analytical calculations (optional).
Experience working with multiple data sources (databases, files, enterprise
systems).
Preferred / Good to Have
Prior experience working on superannuation funds, pensions,
investments, or asset management data.
Exposure to regulatory or compliance reporting in financial services.
Understanding of data governance, data quality, and audit requirements.
Experience working in client‑facing or regulated environments.
