Designer - 12-month Maximum Term Contract

Grace Loves Lace is seeking an experienced and trend-driven Designer to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term maternity leave contract, bringing our signature aesthetic to life through thoughtful design, innovation and craftsmanship.

Your impact:

You’ll design and develop bridal collections aligned with our unique brand identity and aesthetic. Working closely with our Founder and wider development team, you’ll ensure every design is meaningful, functional, and globally resonant.

What you’ll do:

• Deliver designs in line with the brand’s aesthetic, price architecture, and margin targets


• Create collections and bespoke designs following the creative director’s brief


• Translate market trends into commercially successful pieces


• Collaborate with our Founder and development team to meet critical path deadlines and ensure efficient sampling


• Lead fabric and trim sourcing, including exclusive lace development


• Support photoshoots, marketing, and product launches

What you’ll bring:

• Degree in Fashion Design with minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role


• Proven experience designing within bridal, evening wear and a luxury or fashion-forward brand


• Strong knowledge of lace, stretch fabrics, and garment construction


• Advanced proficiency in Illustrator, CAD, and Adobe Suite


• An eye for colour, texture and pattern


• Proficient knowledge and qualitative success in range building and achieving financial goals


• Proficiency in trend analysis and forecasting with the ability to identify and interpret key trends


• Previously worked with luxury lingerie / apparel brands, familiar with diverse types of fabrics – lace, crepe, satin etc.


• Knowledge of Australian and offshore manufacturing processes, garment fit and construction


• Exceptional design skill with a focus on meeting customer and brand demand
  


• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills


• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, well organized and excellent time management skills


• Ability to work within a team and adhere to tight deadlines
