Embryologist

At Genea, patient care, science and technology are equally important.  We pride ourselves on our ability to communicate to patients throughout their cycle on a regular basis and all of our patients have their embryo’s cultured in our timelapse incubator - Geri. Patients also have the ability to view their embryo’s development throughout their cycle on our unique Grow App that was developed inhouse. This is a unique offering that is available to Genea patients only.

Genea Wollongong currently has a part-time or full-time position available for an experienced IVF Scientist to join our scientific team in our clinic on a 12 month contract. The position offers a wide range of responsibilities across Andrology and Embryology. 

This role will see you performing all aspects of clinical Embryology services and diagnostic procedures in the laboratory. As an Embryologist your scope of work will include;

• Manual handling of gametes and embryos
• Intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)
• Diagnostic Andrology procedures
• Pre-implantation Diagnosis (PGD) including embryo hatching, biopsy and tissue handling
• Laboratory maintenance including equipment checks, maintaining stock and maintenance
• Communicating directly with patients and maintaining accurate records

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Embryologist for this role - experience in an IVF laboratory is essential. You will have an excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic. Due to the nature of the role, only local applicants will be considered.

The ability to work as part of a small, skilled team is essential. This role has considerable patient contact, requiring excellent communication skills, and you must have a real commitment to providing excellent patient care
