Finance & Analyst Accountant - 3-6 months

We are partnering with a well-established and growing distribution business seeking a driven and technically strong Accountant to join the team on an initial short-term contract.

This role is ideal for someone who is looking to broaden their commercial exposure, work closely with senior leadership and accelerate their long-term career development.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will gain broad exposure across financial reporting, month-end processes, management reporting, compliance and business partnering within a collaborative and high-performing finance function.

This role will suit someone who enjoys working in a hands-on environment, is naturally curious and analytical, and is looking to build a long-term career in commercial finance.

Key Responsibilities

• Month-end and year-end close processes
• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and journals
• Financial and management reporting
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Variance analysis and insightful commentary
• Supporting external audit requirements
• Driving process improvements and systems enhancements
• Partnering with operational stakeholders across the business
• Ad-hoc analysis and reporting for senior leadership

About You

• CA or CPA qualified (essential)
• 2-5 year's experience, ideally from Big 4 or mid-tier, not essential
• Strong technical accounting foundation
• Advanced Excel skills and strong systems aptitude
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• High attention to detail with a proactive, can-do attitude
• Immediately available or on short notice (highly regarded)
