About You

The Commons is a growing network of thoughtfully curated workspaces and health clubs that celebrate creativity, community, and balance. We’re on the lookout for a freelance interior stylist to help elevate our spaces — someone who not only understands our aesthetic but lives and breathes it.

You’ll bring warmth, soul, and personality into our environments by sourcing and styling art, furniture, and furnishings that feel intentional and elevated. This is a project-based freelance role with the opportunity to collaborate across our locations in both Melbourne and Sydney.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for styling our workspaces and health clubs with a curated, brand-aligned touch. From creative concepting to install, you’ll own the styling process and help us craft spaces that feel calm, connected, and contemporary.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Curate and style furniture, artwork, and décor in line with The Commons’ aesthetic


• Collaborate with our internal teams to bring styling visions to life across multiple sites


• Source and recommend unique pieces that enhance each space’s personality


• Manage mood boards, supplier communications, and styling mockups


• Coordinate installs, working with warehouse teams and external contractors


• Provide guidance on spatial layouts, colour palettes, and finishes


• Travel to project sites across Melbourne and Sydney (with flexibility)

What We’re Looking For

• 2–4+ years' experience in interior styling (workspace, residential, or hospitality environments ideal)


• A strong portfolio demonstrating sophistication, warmth, and creativity


• Excellent communication skills — confident with clients, clear with logistics


• Self-motivated, organised, and confident working in a fast-paced, evolving environment


• A sharp eye for detail, scale, texture, and materiality


• Proficient in sourcing, vendor management, and on-site styling


• A team player who is proactive, solutions-oriented, and hands-on


• Based in (or able to travel to) Melbourne and/or Sydney


• Driver’s license and own vehicle preferred
