About the role:
We are seeking an Information Management Lead to join the Information Management Department on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Y will lead a high-performing team responsible for records and information management, Freedom of Information (FOI), and compliance. This role ensures organisational readiness and embeds best practice frameworks to support a digital-first, future-focused strategy.
Key responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of records management professionals, including the Records Operations Lead, FOI Officer, and project staff as required.
Develop, implement, and review records management policies and procedures.
Manage the FOI function in line with legislative requirements.
Identify and implement innovative improvements to records management systems and practices.
Undertake business planning, reporting, and budgeting activities.
Build and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships, including other councils, PROV, OVIC, and relevant groups.
Drive change readiness and adoption strategies to support continuous improvement.
Model organisational values and behaviors to support a customer-centric and high-performance culture.
Key requirements:
Tertiary qualification in information/records management, business, or related discipline, or extensive experience in a similar role.
Proven experience in leading and managing teams in a corporate information or records management context.
Strong knowledge of the Public Records Act, FOI legislation, and contemporary information management practices.
Experience using electronic records and document management systems.
Ability to lead teams through change and deliver successful outcomes.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build collaborative relationships across the organisation.
