Payroll Officer

You will be part of a highly experienced payroll team of four, supported by approachable and long-tenured leaders who are always willing to help.

In this role, you will take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing across the organisation. You will act as a trusted point of contact for payroll queries and work closely with both HR and Finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing on a weekly/fortnightly basis
• Interpret and apply relevant awards and enterprise agreements (SCHADS/Aged Care Award)
• Maintain employee records, including new starters, terminations, and contractual changes
• Process PAYG, and payroll tax obligations
• Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation and ATO requirements
• Reconcile payroll accounts and manage month-end reporting
• Handle payroll-related queries from staff in a timely and professional manner
• Manage leave calculations, including annual leave, personal leave, and long service leave
• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure data accuracy

About You

• Minimum of 4 years' experience in an end-to-end payroll position
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and compliance requirements
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage sensitive information confidentially
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
