Production Assistant - Maximum Term Contract

Grace Loves Lace is a world leader in innovative and modern bridal with a Head Office on the Gold Coast and 26 Boutiques worldwide! An exciting opportunity is now available for a Production Assistant to join our Production team based in Burleigh Heads!

This is an opportunity suited to newly qualified or passionate fashion production talent to join us on a full time or part time basis, with a key focus in supporting our Cutting, Quality Control, Sewing & Dispatch teams!

About the role:

This role is a maximum term position for a 10-month maternity leave contract, working Monday - Friday (7:00am - 3:30pm Monday - Thursday & 7:00am - 1:30pm Fridays).

We are looking for a reliable, efficient and hungry to learn individual who is able to apply themselves to any required element of the production team tasks.  This role will focus on supporting primarily within our Cutting & Quality Control teams and will require high energy, enthusiasm, adaptability and an ability to become a valuable and skilled member of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Rotating between assisting the cutting team with cutting of garments, trims and accessories and quality control team.
  


• Assisting wider production team and departments including sewing & dispatch. 


• Collating garment components ready to dispatch to contractors


• Overseeing general tidiness of production area to ensure operations run smoothly


• Assist with the overall production quality control


• Upload production figures to production reports


• Tidy and collate work room supplies


• Organising and arranging raw materials


• Keeping the work room organized in a tidy manner


• Cleaning of workroom area and disposing of rubbish
  


• Arrange to deliver raw materials to external contractors


• Abide by safe work practices & adhere to company and legislative requirements relating to Workplace Health & Safety


• Some ad-hoc duties as required

Experience and skills required:

• A background in apparel manufacturing using cutting or industrial machinery would be highly desirable but not essential


• Experience with cutting (knife, by hand, digital) in preferred but not essential


• Related study qualifications is highly desired


• Some understanding of patterns and technical specifications


• Demonstrate effective time management skills


• Ability to work well independently as well as within a team environment.


• Highest standard of attention to detail and commitment to quality


• Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills


• Ability to meet daily goals and deadlines


• Current driver’s license essential


• Physically fit with the ability to lift, bend and pull heavy items
