Job Description - Account Director, Paid Media

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Account Director, Paid Media in Australia.
We are seeking a seasoned Account Director to lead paid media efforts for a diverse portfolio of clients. This role serves as the primary client contact, translating business objectives into actionable media strategies across search, social, programmatic, and niche channels. You will guide execution, oversee budgets, manage project scopes, and provide senior-level strategic counsel while collaborating with internal project managers, media strategists, and activation teams. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, results-driven environments, brings deep paid media expertise, and has a proven track record of driving ROI. This position offers the opportunity to influence client growth, build strong relationships, and contribute to innovative media campaigns in a dynamic team setting.

Accountabilities:

    • Serve as the day-to-day client contact, fostering trust and maintaining productive relationships.
    • Lead the planning and execution of media projects from inception to completion across multiple workstreams.
    • Collaborate with integrated media planners to develop strategies aligned with client objectives.
    • Oversee budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure projects are on time, on budget, and exceed client expectations.
    • Translate complex scientific or industry concepts into compelling media activations and communications.
    • Provide proactive counsel, review research findings, and ensure strategic alignment across campaigns.
    • Mentor and guide junior team members, supporting professional development and team effectiveness.
    • Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Marketing, or a related field.
    • 6+ years of agency experience in paid media, digital marketing, or advertising, preferably within healthcare or science sectors.
    • Proven ability to lead account teams and manage client relationships effectively.
    • Experience managing large budgets and teams ($3–5M preferred).
    • Deep understanding of client subject matter, industry landscape, and performance-driven media strategies.
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and prioritization skills with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills for internal and external communications.
    • Highly proactive, independent, and able to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments.
