The Opportunity

Fixed Term Contract – until August 2026, with potential for extension
Location: Melbourne / Hybrid

We’re seeking a Senior Python Developer with strong Django experience to join our growing engineering team. You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable web applications and backend systems for our enterprise clients, including those in the Telco sector.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and is passionate about writing clean, maintainable code that delivers real-world impact.

What You’ll Do

Software Development & Architecture

• Design and develop robust, scalable web applications using Python and Django


• Build RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services and internal systems


• Write clean, efficient, and testable code following best practices


• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and DevOps engineers


• Translate business requirements into technical solutions


• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies


• Mentor junior developers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement

Innovation & Best Practices

• Evaluate new technologies and frameworks to improve development workflows


• Ensure applications meet security, performance, and scalability standards


• Contribute to internal tooling and reusable components

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience as a Python Developer, with deep expertise in Django


• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and integration


• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)


• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)


• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices


• Understanding of security best practices (e.g., OAuth2, JWT)


• Experience working in agile environments


• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail


• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
