South Coast Baptist College is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our Secondary team. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students through language and literature while supporting their development as confident communicators and thoughtful learners.
Working closely with the Head of English, the successful applicant will contribute to delivering engaging lessons that encourage students to think critically, express themselves clearly and engage meaningfully with a range of texts.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum, encouraging students to think critically, write creatively and analyse texts with confidence.
Foster a dynamic classroom environment where students feel supported to share ideas, develop their voice and grow in their communication skills.
Implement effective classroom management and assessment strategies that promote a safe, respectful and productive learning environment.
Collaborate with the Head of English and teaching team on curriculum planning, assessment design and faculty initiatives.
Integrate technology and contemporary teaching practices to enrich student learning and engagement.
Maintain strong communication with parents and contribute positively to the wider school community.
Participate in professional learning, staff meetings and reflective teaching practices to continually refine teaching excellence.
Uphold and model the Christian values and ethos of South Coast Baptist College.
Position Requirements
A recognised teaching qualification with TRBWA registration (or eligibility).
Demonstrated experience teaching Secondary English, with strong curriculum knowledge.
Passion for literature, language and developing student communication and analytical skills.
Confidence using educational technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills when working with students, parents and colleagues.
A commitment to the Christian mission and ethos of South Coast Baptist College.
Essential Criteria:
To have a personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
To actively be a part of a Church or Christian community and exemplify Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices.
To accept the College’s Statement of Faith.
Build co-operative and supportive relationships with the board, principal, staff, students and parents.
Work to ensure personal best practice.
Ensure that decision making is based on fact and is impartial and fair.
Model the use of appropriate and proper channels of communication.
Always act in the best interest of the College and its ethos.
Adhering to all policies and procedures outlined by SCBC.
First Aid certificate.
Working With Children Card.
