Senior Financial Accountant

The Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a hands-on Senior Financial Accountant / Business Partner to join a fast-growing business based in South Sydney on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract, with strong potential for extension or permanency.

This role has been created due to continued business growth and the need for additional support within a lean finance team. Reporting directly into senior leadership, this is a broad position combining operational finance, process improvement, systems exposure and commercial partnering across the business.

This role will suit a technically strong Senior Financial Accountant looking to step toward a Finance Business Partner or Finance Manager pathway.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support the day-to-day finance function in a hands-on capacity
• Drive process improvements across finance operations, controls and reporting
• Review existing systems and ERP processes, identifying opportunities for improvement
• Partner closely with operations and wider business stakeholders
• Assist the business as it continues transitioning toward a more commercial finance partnering model
• Support month-end processes, reporting and ad hoc finance projects

About You

• Proven experience as a Senior Financial Accountant or similar
• Strong process improvement and transformation exposure
• Broad ERP systems exposure (experience beyond MYOB highly regarded)
• Commercial mindset with strong stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• FMCG, supply chain or product-based industry exposure beneficial
