  • Based in Brisbane - supporting the ALH Hotels business across the QLD/NT region

As the Senior People Partner for ALH Hotels you will serve as a strategic, practical and influential People Partner, translating business needs into effective people practices that positively drive overall performance and sustainable commercial value.

You’ll provide comprehensive and proactive support across all people-related topics, acting as a trusted advisor and catalyst for change.

This role is the critical conduit between ALH leaders and the broader People team, ensuring that the required expertise and strategic People solutions are seamlessly leveraged across our hotels.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

  • Design, develop, and deliver people strategies that are aligned with and responsive to the unique operational demands and growth objectives of the ALH teams.
  • Act as a strategic, trusted advisor to People Leaders, providing expert, pragmatic, and commercially-minded guidance on all people-related matters.
  • Proactively identify business challenges/opportunities and develop forward-thinking People strategies.
  • Influence senior stakeholders to adopt best-in-class people practices for operational excellence and business growth.
  • Lead large-scale organisational change/transformation initiatives, ensuring effective planning, communication, and implementation.
  • Advise on organisational design, workforce planning, and talent requirements.
  • Support complex employee and industrial relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes.
  • Significantly contribute to building leadership capability through programs, influencing development, and direct coaching.
  • Empower leaders to manage teams and day-to-day people matters.
  • Collaborate with leaders and specialist People teams (Talent Acquisition, L&D) to build talent pipelines, enhance engagement, and foster continuous improvement/innovation.
  • Drive initiatives promoting positive employee experience, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Provide actionable insights to leaders by analysing data/trends to improve employee data and performance.
  • Utilise HR metrics to evaluate People programs and identify areas for strategic intervention.
  • Contribute significantly to the broader ALH People Strategy.
  • Design/implement tailored local plans for People Strategy execution, diagnosing issues, providing lessons learned, and advice.
  • Support building People Leaders' capability for compliance in People Practices and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Now let’s talk about you: 

  • Significant previous experience (minimum 7-10 years) in a strategic HR/People Business Partner role within a large, complex, and fast-paced organization, preferably within the hospitality, retail, or service-intensive sectors.
  • Demonstrated expertise in successfully leading organisations through large scale change, transformation, and organizational design initiatives.
  • Current understanding of Australian employment law, industrial relations, and HR best practices.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization with diverse stakeholder expectations.
  • Full Drivers License.
  • Hospitality or related industry experience.
  • Relevant tertiary degree qualifications e.g. HR, Business/ Commerce, Psychology.
