Job Description - Site Engineer - Mechanical


The Project


The Sydney Metro West - Eastern Tunnelling Package (ETP) is a landmark project that includes the design and construction of 3.5-kilometre tunnels under Sydney Harbour, connecting The Bays to Sydney’s CBD. The project also involves the excavation of Pyrmont and Hunter Street stations, completing the final piece of the Sydney Metro West puzzle.

Your Role

As a  Mechanical Site Engineer within the Plant Team at our Eastern Creek site, your responsibilities will include:



  • Proactively liaising with internal stakeholders and subcontractors to oversee the management of the plant yard and any associated construction activities.

  • Coordinating and managing daily deliveries to and from the Plant Yard for project sites.

  • Managing the segment release process to ensure seamless operations.

  • Collaborating closely with the broader project team to ensure successful delivery of works within the ETP scope.

  • Monitoring progress, resolving technical challenges, and implementing innovative solutions to drive project success.

What We're Looking For


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

  • Proven experience in construction projects with specific expertise in FRP or Excavation.

  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies and safety standards.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

  • A proactive attitude and a commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes.

  • Ideally, previous experience working for a Tier 1 or 2 Contractor
