Solution Architect - Azure - Networking - Security - Integration

Solution Architect withexperience and knowledge of Azure, networking, security & integration solutions to join us on a long-term customer project.

The role has been created to complete analysis, prepare solution architectures and oversee technical details of implementation for Azure, networking & security integration projects. As the Solution Architect you will undertake discovery to map the current state and continually fielding new business and technology improvement uplift plans, including high level Architectural solution design.

Rate : $1200pd ACN Contractor, or up to $250,000 (inc super) depending on background & experience
Style : Hybrid; 3 days per week in the office
Location : Adelaide CBD

Essential skills & experience:

• Azure Integration Services (API Mgt, Event Grid, Service Bus, Logic Apps)
• Azure Networking (DNS, ExpressRoute, Virtual Network Manager, NAT GW, Private Link, Virtual WAN)
• Azure Security (Firewall, Application GW, Bastion, WAF, Front Door, Key Vault, VPN Gateway)
• Azure Container Management (AKS, Red Hat OpenShift, Container Apps)

Key duties & responsibilities:

• Solution options documents recommending solutions for key decision points according to:
  • alignment to the organisations standards and strategy
  • implementation complexity
  • option qualities: security, availability, fit to purpose
  • option sustainment and support risks and impacts & relative cost comparisons
• Cost estimates (5-year total cost of ownership)
• Technical input (such as non-functional requirements) to any necessary procurement documentation such as expressions of interest or requests for quote
• Recommendation and guidance on best practices and patterns for application development using:
  • Azure Integration Services
  • Azure Security and networking models
  • Azure based firewall appliances
  • Platform and Solution architecture definition (executive summary and full document)
    • Concept of operations
    • Business services and information models
    • Inter-system integration
    • Component models
    • Networking and deployment
    • Scenario planning - including functional, availability, disaster recovery
    • Key decision analysis
  • Architecture Review Board submissions:
    • new architecture standards, patterns and building blocks required for the project
    • requests for exception against established patterns and reference architectures
  • Review of vendor documentation
    • Review of designs, technical specifications, and tender responses against the Solution Architecture Definition
    • Follow up and/or escalation of any required corrective actions.
• Peer review of Solution Options and Solution Architecture Definitions by other architects
