Systems Accountant

The Company

An established globally manufacturing organisation is seeking a commercially minded Systems accountant to join its finance team during an exciting period of transformation and growth. With operations spanning Australia, Asia, Europe and the US, the business combines long-term stability with the opportunity to influence systems, reporting and process improvement initiatives across the region.

Operating for decades within specialised industrial and manufacturing markets, the company has recently undergone a significant ownership transition and is heavily investing in systems capability, financial visibility and operational efficiency.

The Role

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Own and enhance the end-to-end product costing process across the business, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and commercial relevance
• Support the preparation and development of budgeting and forecasting activities, including building budgets and scenario analysis from the ground up
• Develop high-quality, value-added reporting and insights, including price vs volume analysis, variance analysis, and key operational performance drivers
• Leverage advanced Excel and data analysis skills to improve reporting capability, enhance visibility, and support informed decision-making
• Assist with broader accounting activities, including reconciliations and month-end close processes as required
• Partner with key internal stakeholders to maximise system capability, drive efficiency, and improve business processes
• Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement initiatives across financial processes, controls, and reporting frameworks
• Maintain and update finance system master data and user access profiles, ensuring data integrity and governance standards are upheld

About you

• Proven experience in a Systems Accountant, Management Accountant, or Commercial Analyst role within a dynamic business environment
• Strong proficiency in Excel with advanced capability in financial modelling, reporting, and data analysis
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP or other large-scale enterprise platforms
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
• CPA or CA qualified, or actively working towards completion of professional qualification
