Test Automation Engineer - Playwright

DWS is seeking a Test Automation Engineer specialising in Playwright and TypeScript to join a large-scale enterprise program focused on uplifting automation capability across UI, API, and backend systems. You will be part of a high-performing engineering team responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable automation frameworks that support critical digital platforms.

Salary: up to $140k (inc. super)

Key responsibilities and experience required:

• Very strong hands-on experience designing and developing automation frameworks using Playwright with TypeScript or JavaScript
• Substantial experience delivering end-to-end test automation across UI, API, and backend/database layers
• Strong SQL capability, including complex queries and data validation
• Proven experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Strong understanding of Git-based source control, pull requests, and peer code reviews
• Experience working within enterprise-scale environments and complex system landscapes
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
• Exposure to event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Kafka or MQ
• Strong collaboration skills with developers, QA engineers, DevOps and delivery teams
• Experience contributing to defect management, root cause analysis, and quality metrics reporting
• Sound understanding of test strategy, automation best practices, and Agile delivery methods
