We are currently seeking applications for an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) Officer to join Financial Services at The Department of Treasury & Finance for a period of 9 months.

Remuneration: ASO2 – Salary Range ($57,842 - $62,221 p.a.).

About the opportunity:

The Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) Officer is accountable to the Operational Team Leader Financial Services, for the preparation and payment of accounts, data entry of invoices, receipting of revenue and debt collection. Ensuring that all relevant data is correctly entered into the system and delivering a quality customer service within agreed service delivery time frames.

About you

To be successful you will:

  • Understand processing AP/AR, general ledger transactions within the GST environment.
  • Be experienced in the use of financial systems (e.g. Masterpiece, Oracle, Basware or similar).
  • Be able to provide quality customer service and communicate, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner with a diverse range of people.
  • Be able to review procedures and provide feedback and support team members undertaking processes and using systems within AP/AR.
  • Be able to work effectively as an individual and a member of a team to meet deadlines, identify and deal with problems.
  • Be experienced with working towards daily targets and actively contribute to achieve team goals.
  • Be able to quickly learn new information, processes and procedures and software applications to deliver results.
  • Be able to work diligently, with sound numeracy skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Be able to be flexible, respond to fluctuating workloads and changes to assigned tasks. Participates in learning and development to update knowledge and skills in a changing environment.
  • Be experienced in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Have an awareness of the relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including Code of Conduct, EEO and cultural inclusion.
  • Have an understanding of and ability to work to the spirit and principles of the Premier’s Safety Commitment and the legislative requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act 2012.

Reporting and Working Relationships

The AP/AR Officer is accountable to the OTL and works as part of the wider Financial Services Team. The AP/AR Officer will liaise with appropriate staff within Shared Services SA, serviced government agencies, suppliers to government and members of the public.
