Job Description - Accounts receivable officer officer

Wonderful opportunity for a switched-on Accounts Receivable officer to join an organization in a permanent, full-time position.

Established over 150 years ago, our Client offers a wide range of services across various sectors including Children, Youth, Adult and Family Support, Disability Services, Employment, Education, Homelessness, Justice, and Palliative Care. Position Description As a key part of our Client's finance team, you will contribute to financial operations, reporting, and control across our organization. Your role will involve maintaining accurate client data, generating invoices, debt collection, and providing essential accounting support.

  • Set up and maintain invoicing schedules for service agreements and funding arrangements.
  • Generate timely and accurate invoices and credit notes in the accounting system.
  • Process refunds and manage daily receipting and banking activities.
  • Proactively follow up on outstanding invoices and manage debt management processes.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Assist with audit queries and preparation of year-end accounts and audits.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.

Ideal Candidate


The successful applicant will also have the following attributes:

  • 2-3 years' experience in accounts receivable and administration.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially with pivot tables and data analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record management.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to arrive at appropriate solutions.
  • Familiarity with system mapping and accounting software.
  • Knowledge of Computerised Accounting Software, particularly Dynamic 365 is highly desirable.
  • Have a positive, upbeat attitude
