Role summary

Reporting to the finance manager (risk division), key responsibilities of the assistant accountant include systems accounting; financial control; general ledger administration; treasury; investments portfolio management; and financial statements.

Knowledge and skills

• Sound knowledge of insurance accounting standards and implementation of new standards.

• Ability to produce consolidate annual financial reports.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Ability to work with minimum supervision, including effective time management skills.

• Attention to detail.

• Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Experience

• Experience in an assistant accountant role.

• Experience with accounting and banking software.

• Experience in the insurance industry (desirable).
