Context
Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Australia is an expanding charity with a strong vision and passionate workforce. CAP is building a movement of Christians that are committed to tackling both material and relational poverty. CAP has a vision that no one living in Australia will face financial distress alone, we believe in a future where hope, community and generosity abound so that all will flourish.
Jesus is at the core of all we do here at CAP. We exist to inspire and equip a movement of churches within Australia to walk alongside those in financial distress. CAP provides the training, tools, support and encouragement churches need to effectively walk alongside those in financial distress.
The Fundraising and Marketing team exists to build the financial capacity of CAP through the development of strategy aligned to our goals, initiatives and targets allowing us to attract, maintain and deepen partnerships and income streams.
Purpose
The Communications Specialist plays a vital role in working within the Fundraising and Marketing team communicating CAP’s vision, mission, progress and ongoing need to all stakeholders.
The role includes producing both internal and external communications across several platforms including socials, e-comms, direct mail and the website. The role will utilise your skills in creative development and copywriting.

You are passionate about storytelling and ensuring that communications are consistent with the CAP mission and vision and effective at inspiring people to get involved. You will have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude ensuring all communications are timely and align with messaging guidelines.
Personality
You are creative, focused and motivated by seeing others join in the movement. You are tenacious when delivering the CAP brand, strive for excellence and love to share the success of CAP with others. You are confident and excited about asking for financial support.
Role
The Communications Specialist is responsible for assisting the Content and Communications Manager develop the internal and external communications of the charity.
This role will suit someone who has recently completed a Communications Degree and is looking for a role that will give them exposure across all fields of communication including marketing, internal and external communications, content writing and social and digital media.
