Project Accountant

Excellent Project Accounting role available for a professional with strong interpersonal and communication skills, currently studying (or looking to start) their CA/CPA qualification. Brisbane South-West location, with parking. Salary up to $120k plus super with 1-day WFH available.

Due to significant growth and continued business success, they are keen to add an experienced Project Accountant to join their Brisbane office.

The Role:

Reporting to the Financial Controller (a people-person who leads by example) who has grown his career within the company, the Project Accountant will oversee accounting services for the organisation's finance team and suppliers.

We are keen to speak to finance professionals with Project Accounting experience, as the key responsibilities include:

• Producing Month-End project reporting and analysis.
• Controlling Project Trust Reporting and compliance.
• Working with the Financial Controller on financial assessments and data analysis to support planning and budgeting.
• Prepare monthly project reports (forecasts, budget variances etc)..
• Maintaining financial registers etc.
• Improving project accounting processes and accounting tools.
• Providing support to other staff on project costing and invoicing.
• Supporting the finance team with day-to-day operations.

About you:

We are looking for a confident individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills, who shows initiative, is ready to hit the ground running. The ideal candidate will be degree qualified with several years’ experience, currently studying (or looking to start) their CA/CPA qualification.

Skills and Experience:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Proven experience in financial and management operations, ideally within project finance.
• Strong interpersonal skills, capable of effective communication across all organisational levels.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision making skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and Pronto (desirable but not necessary).
