Senior Fund Accountant

Our client is looking for a Senior Fund Accountant to take the next step in their career for an 18-month contract role.



The Role


We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Fund Accountant to join our Melbourne team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the financial reporting and accounting functions for our investment funds.

• Prepare and review daily, monthly, and quarterly financial statements for investment funds.
• Perform fund accounting tasks, including NAV calculations, accruals, and fee calculations and unit pricing.
• Reconcile cash, positions, and other fund-related accounts including cash projections.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
• Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers, custodians, and other stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and provide accurate financial information.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Your Profile


A hungry up and coming Fund Accountant with excellent communication skills to engage with executive level stakeholders,

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or CA qualification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in fund accounting, preferably within the investment management industry and financial services.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and investment products.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
