This is your opportunity to join carsales as a Senior Financial Accountant. Reporting to the Senior Group Finance Manager, you will be a contributor within the financial control team with internal month-end processes, statutory accounts, subsidiary specific month end responsibilities, consolidations, and stakeholder management.

Job Description



What you’ll do

  • Prepare and own consolidation, month end reporting and associated commentaries for critical subsidiaries, including relevant journals as required.
  • Support with review of monthly general ledger reconciliations.
  • Review and deliver half-year and full-year financial reports.
  • Support managing the external audit process.
  • Provide expert technical advice, financial information, and reporting to management.
  • Collaborate with the Group Finance Managers on critical projects (system migrations, business combinations, capital transactions, review of internally developed software assets etc).
  • Coach and develop Financial and Assistant Accountants.

Qualifications



What we are looking for?

  • Demonstrated inclusive and interpersonal attributes that connect you to our behaviours (we change the game, we own it, we step in, we are curious, we don’t take ourselves too seriously).
  • Demonstrated expertise in accounting with strong technical accounting skills with a professional accounting qualification such as CA or CPA.
  • Big 4 Chartered Accounting firm or ASX listed companies is advantageous.
  • Understand accounting for key judgmental areas including provisions, accruals, impairment models, business combinations, rebate and volume incentive accounting, absorption costing, and/or standard costing (capitalised variance accounting) is advantageous. 
  • Strong Excel proficiency and previous experience with NetSuite ERP, Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Business Central) or similar accounting programs.
