About the Unit
The Yara Pilbara Fertilisers' plant is one of the largest ammonia production sites in the world and we have also taken the ammonia process further downstream with the Yara Pilbara Nitrates Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) plant, a joint venture with Orica. Together with ENGIE, Yara Pilbara will also build a renewable hydrogen plant to produce renewable ammonia.

Responsibilities
Looking for an exciting new challenge? Yara are seeking applications for their permanent role of Senior Tax Accountant. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer the Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for ensuring compliance with tax regulations and reporting for the Australian entities of the Yara International Group. This role is committed to the delivery of accurate financial information, on a timely basis and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
The primary responsibilities include:
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all tax regulations, including GST, FBT, income and payroll taxes as well as monitoring possible tax risks to the business such as thin capitalisation on an ongoing basis.
- Responsible for assessing, documenting and presenting the impact of certain transactions on the business from a tax perspective as needed.
- Drive the preparation, implementation and monitoring of a Yara Tax Governance Framework, as well as the creation and retention of other key documentation to support tax related decisions and assessments.
- Proactively ensure that your knowledge of tax regulations is up-to-date; this might include attendance of webinars, in person events or reading online updates and training materials.
- Passing on your knowledge and advice in a succinct and understandable format to key stakeholders as appropriate.
- Prepare the income and deferred tax statutory note disclosures, and liaise with external auditors for their audit of these disclosures.
- Prepare tax entries for the month-end and year-end close processes in line with reporting deadlines.

Profile
- A relevant tertiary qualification in tax and/or accounting.
- Completed professional accounting qualification (CPA/CAANZ/CTA).
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a similar role or within a tax and business services team
- Experience with a multi-currency Group arrangement highly desirable
- Excellent knowledge of Australian tax and accounting regulations and reporting standards.
- Working as part of a team, proactively implementing process improvements.
- Experience working with SAP is highly desirable.
- Fluent verbal and written English is essential.
- Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
