About Golf Australia:

Australian Golf is experiencing unprecedented growth and embarking upon an exciting journey of change. Golf Australia is central to this as the governing body for golf in Australia.

Australian Golf has a new strategy that positions golf as “a sport for life and fun for all”. Whether you are a member of a golf club, a round player playing social golf, a ball hitter at a driving range, a mini golfer playing with family and friends, or even one of the 5.8 million Australians who have said that they want to play but are not yet participating, Golf Australia would like to hear from you.

As the governing body for Golf in Australia, our key responsibilities are to encourage participation across the sport whilst supporting the health of all places to play around the country. Working alongside key industry partners such as the PGA of Australia and the WPGA Tour, Golf Australia helps provide player pathways through the events at club and state level, through to the Australian Open. In addition, we support the high-performance program developing talent through to the professional stage.

About the Role:

This is a varied and challenging role that will be responsible for assisting in the growth of Australian golf’s pathway product TeeMates, and in particular, an oversight of event delivery in Queensland.

This individual will also play a key role in the growth of TeeMates events across the country and assist in providing further insight into the national strategy around future offerings for grassroots participants and be responsible for the implementation thereafter.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Specific areas of responsibility include:

  • Successful delivery of existing Queensland TeeMates events.
  • Achieving growth in participation in future Queensland TeeMates events.
  • Increase the total number of TeeMates events held nationally.
  • High level of support given to all internal and external golf stakeholders around junior participation programs and events.
  • Engagement within working groups focusing on Australian golf’s pathway products on a regular basis.
  • Achieve an increase in membership of TeeMates.
  • Deliver an increase in positive perception of TeeMates events.

Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational skills to deliver amazing customer experiences for all event participants and members. In addition, you will have:

  • 2+ years’ experience in the game development and/or events area within sport
  • Demonstrated experience engaging/influencing within an organization
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with external stakeholders to drive participation and event outcomes
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time and prioritise accordingly
  • Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal presentation
  • Interest and comfort level in operationalizing program strategy
  • A good understanding of the Australian golf landscape
  • Golf event experience (desirable).
  • Passion for sport.

We are looking for a highly organised individual who has a passion for increasing participation in sport and delivering engaging programs and events and experiences. You will present professionally and have a positive attitude.

The role is a 12-month full time fixed-term contract, however those seeking a part time (4 day week) position will be considered.
