Job Description - Administrative/Property Officer - with Growth Opportunities

As the successful applicant you will be part of North West Metro Region which has over 3710 operational police, 343 Victorian Public Service employees which include 115 Police Custody Officers. North West Metro Region is at the forefront of the delivery of policing services to a large, diverse and challenging segment of the Victorian Community.

About the role:

As the successful applicant, you will be part of a team that is responsible for managing the Units lost/confiscated property and providing a broad range of administrative support services to members at the Criminal Investigations Branch in Melbourne.

Your duties will include:

  • Administering and being accountable for the team's lost and confiscated property.
  • Managing property storage, destruction, and audits in accordance with policy.
  • Provide general office support duties including the operation and maintenance of office equipment.
  • Prepare routine correspondence on a range of administrative matters and attend to follow-up procedures as required with a high attention to detail.
  • Attend to telephone and counter enquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in working with computers and various programs to perform a range of administrative tasks including records management, data entry and word processing tasks.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise work with minimal supervision.
  • A strong commitment and a demonstrated record in meeting customer needs.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of clients both orally and in writing. 

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) ongoing full-time position available.
  • Position is located at the Criminal Investigation Unit in Melbourne, 313 Spencer Street Docklands. While this position will have a nominated usual place of work, the position may be required to work at other locations, in accordance with the provisions of the relevant Victorian Public Service Agreement.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or Visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction - COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated (this includes the booster dose) and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination .
