Job Description - Business Support Officer

About Us:

The Shrine of Remembrance is more than just a monument; it's a symbol of remembrance, honour, and community. We are seeking a Business Support Officer who has experience in the end-to-end employment life cycle and is passionate about recruitment. This is an exciting new role where you will have the opportunity to collaborate with an enthusiastic team and work on some exciting projects.

What You'll Do:

The Business Support Officer reports to the People and Culture (P&C) Manager and is the primary contact for recruitment and P&C administration. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the development of standardised position descriptions and ensure appropriate review and update.
  • Assist in organising training programs and facilitate individual training bookings.
  • Maintain training register and coordinate compliance training with the assistance of the P&C Manager and Directorate Managers.
  • Assist in the application of the performance development & review system and provide organisational support as required.
  • Process and oversee compliance for Police and Working with Children Checks.
  • Prepare Agendas and Minutes for meetings as required.
  • Assist in the coordination of all aspects of the employee lifecycle including the end-to-end recruitment process, induction, and termination.
  • Maintain relevant human resources records, information, and databases to ensure accuracy and availability of information where required.
  • Undertake identified projects as required within the scope of the position.

Essential

  • Empathy for the objectives of the Shrine of Remembrance.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction, cooperation, and trust with relevant stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes and establish and maintain strong and productive working relationships.
  • High quality communication skills that result in effective communication with a broad range of people internal and external to the Shrine.
  • Proficiency in the use and application of the Microsoft Office suite of programs and the ability to adapt to new systems and platforms.
  • Evidence of effective organisational and administrative skills relevant to a small business operation.
  • High attention to detail and ability to prepare documentation in line with relevant situational requirements.

Desirable

  • Formal Human Resources and/or Business Administration Qualifications (minimum certificate IV level).
  • Previous experience in recruitment.
