Permanent Chef position available for a well- established Townsville-based organisation! Your new company

Hays Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a well-established residential organisation who pride themselves on their reputation within the local community. This organisation is currently seeking a permanent, full-time, enthusiastic and experienced Chef to join the team based in Townsville, QLD.

Your new role

You will be a highly reliable individual and experienced at providing hospitality service with a smile. It is essential to always provide a high standard of care and welcoming approach. You will ensure a flawless operation and all team members must be punctual and committed to working together.

As a Chef, your day-to-day operations may include:

• Preparing and cooking meals: You will be responsible for creating a variety of nutritious and delicious options across breakfast, lunch and dinner service. You will have proven experience catering to all dietary requirements.
• Ensuring the kitchen is clean and well-maintained: This includes working as a team to clean utensils, dishes, and kitchen equipment.
• Adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations: You will be expected to follow strict food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure health and safety is always upheld
• Managing inventory and communicating about the ordering of supplies: You will help ensure that the kitchen is well-stocked and manage orders as necessary.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will be a fully qualified and accredited Chef and have a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery. It is desirable that you have a valid Blue Card (working with children) or are willing to obtain one. To be successful, you must be available on a Monday-Saturday roster and flexibility with hours is desirable to assist the team where necessary. Having a reliable means of transport is a non-negotiable for this role.
