We are currently seeking a full-time Chef for our busy kitchen in Alexandria.

Your duties will include;

· Assist with planning menus, estimating food and labour costs

• Employs food safety best practices and makes sure that all kitchen staff members do the same
• Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients
• Cook food in a timely manner
• Delegate tasks to kitchen staff
• Inform wait staff about daily specials
• Ensure appealing plate presentation
• Supervise cooks and assist as needed
• Slight modify recipes to meet customers needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
• Monitor food stock and place orders
• Check freshness of food, discard out-of-date items and enforce hygiene regulations
• Keeps up with trends in cooking and the restaurant business to ensure that guests have a positive experience
• Works quickly and accurately during busy periods, such as weekends and evenings
• May assist with selecting and training staff
• Occasionally takes on extra duties, such as cleaning, when the kitchen is short-stagged or the restaurant is particularly busy

In return you will receive:

· Package: $75,000-$77,000 plus superannuation

· Position: Full time (38 hours a week)

· Ongoing support from our team

Requirements of position

· Relevant Advanced Diploma, Diploma and at least 2 years of work experience.
