Consultant Anaesthetist.

Seeking an Specialist Anaesthetist who enjoys working in a vibrant team culture and can operate with a high level of professionalism, on offer is a highly rewarding role within Mount Gambier and Districts Health Services. As a senior member of the anaesthetic team, you will be responsible for pre and peri-operative anaesthetic care of surgical and obstetric patients and provide input into the management of patients in the High Dependency Unit and in emergency situations when on duty. A strong relationship builder with a demonstrated commitment to education and training of junior colleagues, you will be an effective role model for all other staff and participate in teaching and training activities of junior doctors. You will be actively engaged in continuing education activities in addition to Continuous Quality Improvement activities, including audit and morbidity and mortality review.

With Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists or equivalent, you will hold appropriate Specialist Qualifications and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.

The hospital has approximately 96 public beds and is co-located with a 20 bed private hospital. It provides extensive services including general medicine, general, orthopaedics, ENT, ophthalmic, and gynaecological surgery, and obstetrics in addition to an emergency department and a high dependency unit.
