Job Description - Education & Care Manager

Education and Care Manager – Alanvale

Lady Gowrie is seeking an Education and Care Manager for our Alanvale Long Day Care Service in Newnham, Northern Tasmania. Lady Gowrie is a non-for-profit community-based organisation providing Education and Care to children from birth to 12 years of age.

Role : Education and Care Manager

Location : Alanvale, Newnham

Employment Type : Part-time (9 Day Fortnight)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Education and Care Managers are responsible for the delivery of high quality and safe play-based programs in line with Lady Gowrie’s philosophy Children First. The Alanvale Long Day Care Service – is licensed for 55 children each day supported by a team of Education and Care Practitioners, an assistant manager and an Educational Leader working with our Northern Services supporting Pedagogy and Practice.

The Education and Care Manager reports to the Regional Manager for Education and Care Northern Long Day Care Services and works collaboratively with Managers across the state.

As part of the role, you will:

  • Manage the delivery of high-quality and safe Early Childhood Education and Care based on quality programs and practice.
  • Build strong trusting relationships with children, families, and your team.
  • Lead and mentor your team to ensure children are safe and engaged in our programs.
  • Assist the development or organisational policies, procedures, and practices to promote the support high quality and cost-effective service provision.
  • Lead the service to meet the national quality standards, through Assessment and Rating process, and visits from the Regulatory Authority
  • Ensure that your team develops and delivers a fun and educational program that meets the needs and interests of every child.
  • Supervise the day-to-day operation and administration of the service including enrolments, childcare subsidy and fees, rostering, records management, staff training and development and human resource activities.
  • Running regular team meetings for your service

ABOUT YOU

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in early education and care or the equivalent (preferred), or Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care (or equivalent)
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Minimum of 5 years-experience in the Early Education and Care sector.
  • Proven understanding and practical application of Education and Care Regulations, National Law, and National Quality Framework
  • Have a passion for creating exciting, fun, and meaningful learning and play experiences for children.
  • Have strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Have experience with Storypark and Qikkids or the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Hold a current registration for Working with Vulnerable People (Child Related Activity) for an employee.
  • Current Police Check
