Our client is a national employee-owned boutique engineering consultancy with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. They have currently opened a brand-new ESG Coordinator Position to play a pivotal role in assisting and monitoring the implementation of our organisation's risk management frameworks, reporting directly to the Global HSEQ Manager.
Your new role
This person will be at the forefront of proactive participation within the HSEQ Corporate Services Group, collaborating to identify, implement, monitor, and evaluate annual HSEQ related objectives and targets, as well as Strategic Business Plans for HSEQ and ESG functions.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting and disclosure of annual ESG data and information, providing support and technical advice on ESG to the Senior Management, relevant Committees, and Corporate Services Group.
- Collaborate with the ESG Committee to identify potential initiatives and value-adding industry practices aligned with applicable Legislation, Standards, and Codes, challenging the company to enhance business activities and service offerings.
- Perform data analysis of ESG metrics, strategic objectives or targets, and overall business performance, preparing robust, easy-to-understand, and globally aligned process documentation to support calculations and metrics.
- Coordinate regular, scheduled audit and reporting as required, including the provision of data, supporting documentation, and connecting key stakeholders to support assurance processes.
- Coordinate subconsultants and third-party providers for materiality assessment, carbon calculation, and other related tasks.
- Provide advice to the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Group and regional offices on strategy, assisting in the collection of data or other performance metrics to support organisation reporting of RAP initiatives or strategy.
What you'll need to succeed
- Tertiary Qualification Bachelors or equivalent in a relevant discipline (i.e., Science, Honours in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, Sustainability and Social Impact or other).
- At least three (3) years' experience working in a similar ESG role, ideally within an engineering consultancy or construction industry.
- Knowledge in integrating ESG considerations into decision-making, operations, and strategies, ensuring transparent and trusted ESG reporting.
- Formal qualification for internal auditing (i.e., ISO 19011 or other).
- In depth technical knowledge of relevant core regulatory frameworks or standards including, but not limited to:
- SASB - Sustainability Accounting Standards Board,
- IFRS S1/S2 - General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information; and Climate-Related Disclosures. and
- CSRD - Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive
- In-depth experience of working with the GHG Protocol Scope 1, 2, and 3.
- Demonstrable knowledge of stakeholder management and client engagement strategy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Advanced Excel.
