Job Description - Futsal & Social Football Coordinator

A bit more about us…. we are the governing body for Football and Futsal in New South Wales, with the exception of the northern regions of NSW. We are a member of the national governing body, Football Australia (FA).

Football NSW is located at Valentine Sports Park (VSP) in Glenwood NSW. The venue includes staff offices, 5 meticulously kept playing fields, lecture rooms, indoor sports hall, accommodation, a 20 metre indoor pool, cafe and on site gym -  facilities you too will benefit from!

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role works with the Head of Community & Member Services, the Head of Women’s, and Schools Football & Futsal Manager to implement and deliver programs and activities to drive the growth in participation of football, non-traditional football, and futsal at grassroots level within NSW.

This position requires close liaison with the relevant local and state education departments, local futsal centres and summer football centres to develop specific development programs and competitions. 

The development of strategies to increase grassroots participation introducing new initiatives to attract players and aim to promote and assist clubs, associations and centres in the management and organization of their programs to make football and futsal an attractive option compared to other competing sports.


The role is full-time based at Valentine Sports Park, Glenwood however will require weekend and evening working hours to complete the responsibilities at times.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Community Futsal and Futsal Schools:

  • Liaise with Futsal Venues
  • Create Futsal Schools Calendar 
  • Promote Futsal Schools Competition 
  • Manage Futsal Schools Championship registrations
  • Liaise with the NSW Futsal Referees Association 
  • Coordinate the resources required to deliver the Futsal Schools Championships

Summer and Social Football:

  • Coordinate affiliation applications from centres
  • Implement registration campaign 
  • Provide marketing support for approved centres
  • Ongoing support of approved centres
  • Coordinate Summer Football Champions of Champions Tournament

General Duties:

  • Assist with the planning and development of strategies for improving on the programs offered by FNSW for local futsal centres/ participants.
  • Assist with the administration and delivery of Futsal tournaments delivered by FNSW. 
  • Assist with Futsal State team training schedules for all FNSW Futsal State Teams. 
  • Be the key liaison internally between Community Services and Delivery, Football and Futsal, as well as externally between relevant local and state education departments, local futsal and summer football centres.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholder bodies.
  • Promote and increase awareness around the opportunities available at the grassroots level.
  • Coordinate and provide necessary training to part time, casual or volunteer staff engaged in futsal schools or summer football development programs.

SPECIFIED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated experience within football & futsal
  • Demonstrated competition delivery experience.
  • Suitable tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience to fulfill the role.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of computer literacy, particularly in MS Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Internet, Email). Intermediate Excel skills will be an advantage.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Current Working with Children Check (Employee) or ability to obtain.
  • Current Driver’s License & Own vehicle.
