Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. An exciting opportunity is now available for an Administration to join the General Services team in a Permanent Full time role, located at Nepean Hospital. The Administration Officer - General Services is responsible to the Manager, General Services for administrative and general support to assist the senior staff in General Services to achieve the units objectives. Your role will see you provide effective and efficient personal administration support including diary and communication management, reception service. At all times you will be responsible for the maintenance, adjustments and entries into proact for all staff and for all online ordering, receipting and payment of invoices. This position requires you to work in a busy, demanding and complex environment providing support to a large diverse team, where there are competing priorities and strict deadlines.

What will you bring to the role:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Office Administration/Secretarial or previous experience in a similar position with direct customer service contact.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High level of working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and the ability to maintain and Trim documents as required
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, analyse and manage data and produce relevant reports and/or presentations for various reporting indicators
  • Demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgement, discretion and initiative, prioritising work and meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytic skills
  • Demonstrated ability to input and undertake staff payroll processes for a large unit, ability to perform Oracle ordering, receipting and associated processes
  • High capability in office management with a high standard of organisational skills, meticulous record keeping and database maintenance
