IT Support Officer

Started in 1989, All Purpose Pumps (APP) is a growing family owned and operated business with a passion for quality pumping and process solutions. Our modern Offices, Training, R&D, Warehouse, Workshop and Production facilities are in Hoppers Crossing.

Our business has undergone significant and exciting expansion opportunities, and this position supports our commercial objectives by providing assistance to our customers with a focus on IT Support, suitable for graduates and those starting their IT careers.

Responsibilities

• Support on-going maintenance and monitoring of systems in accordance with appropriate plans.

• Preparation of equipment and services in line with work specification and appropriate deadlines including hardware and services

• Investigate and diagnose problems and provide solutions

• Provide telephone and email support to internal customers

• Set up of user accounts

• Support the in-house IT systems with basic requests (i.e. Changing printer toner, replacing cables, moving computers etc.)

• Manage and maintain the computer network, servers, telephony system and workstations

• Provide support and education to staff regarding information systems

• Plan and implement information system upgrades

• Liaise with suppliers and contractors where required

• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current operating systems and standard software packages

• Communicate with customers throughout projects and activities

• Escalate problems where appropriate

Critical Selection Criteria

• Knowledge of computer and peripheral hardware servicing and basic repairs.

• Ability to handle an IT helpdesk independently and triage and escalate tickets to ensure optimal outcomes for the business.

• Experience with Office 365 tenants ideally supporting Microsoft Intune, MDM and Autopilot deployments - Highly desirable

• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server including user account management in Active Directory, Azure AD and file system security - Highly desirable

• Experience with the creation and administration of Group Policies in a Terminal Server Environment - Highly desirable

• Knowledge of Virtual environments including Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure and VMware - Highly desirable

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to apply a troubleshooting methodology for hardware & software issues.

• Ability to work effectively within a team environment, both taking direction from and supporting other colleagues

• A good standard of written and oral communication.
