Your new company

Are you a Mechanical Fitter looking for work in the south side of Canberra? This company wants to know about you! This family owned and operated business has a great pipeline of ongoing waste management work for the foreseeable future. They need a trade qualified Mechanical Fitter to join their team in a permanent role and maintain their machines and mobile plant equipment.

Your new role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will work alongside the workshop team to perform scheduled and preventative maintenance. You will ensure inventory management of spare parts and also the return and lock up of tools in the workshop each day. Your maintenance work will include tasks such as fabrication, welding repairs, servicing, general fitting, general repairs. You will also be responsible for communicating with the manager and your team for prioritisation of work, repairs and cleaning of the workshop.

What you'll need to succeed

As a Maintenance Fitter you will be trade qualified and have experience with repairing mobile plant and equipment. You will also:

• Have a valid drivers licence
• Be prepared for laborious duties as this role involves a lot of manual handling
• A great attitude towards work to ensure you are punctual, able to work autonomously and safe

What you'll get in return

This company is offering a above award pay rate of $45 - $50 per hour plus OT penalties when you work OT. You will also get:

• 2 x 30 minute lunch breaks (unpaid) daily
• Monday to Friday hours of 7am-4pm with a preference of working 1 hour OT each day.
• Opportunity to work shifts on Saturdays as well
• You may also have use of a company vehicle
