Job Description - Medical Secretary (Temporary)

  • Commencing ASAP - 2 - 3 month temporary assignment

The Practice
Well-established specialist ophthalmology group in Glen Waverley, providing admin support for six Retina Specialists. The practice is committed to giving each patient the best possible care and service throughout their treatment journey and beyond. It's a gorgeous practice with a warm and welcoming feel for all who work there and visit.


The Assignment
As a temporary Medical Secretary, you will cover the temporary absence of an existing staff member. Managing a variety of medical administrative tasks daily, including, but not limited to:
  • Diary management for your specialists (1 per consulting session)
  • Greeting patients and general reception work
  • Setting and confirming patient appointments
  • Managing surgery bookings and theatre lists
  • Liaising with hospitals and anaesthetists
  • Processing payments/billing for consultations and surgery
  • Medicare batching
  • Audio-typing
About You
You'll be a competent and experienced Medical Secretary with the ability to hit the ground running with minimal handover. You'll be knowledgeable with ZedMed software and understand the flow of specialist surgical practice from your many years working in a similar setting. You will be available and committed to completing full-time days and hours for the duration of the assignment: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.
Attractive hourly rate negotiable based on experience.
