Network Systems Administrator

The Company

A local corporation with an established services division are expanding their team. An opportunity within their IT team has become available and are looking for a Network Systems Administrator to provide exceptional maintenance and support of all systems, networks, telephony, and PC applications.

The Role

Reporting to the IT manager, the Network Systems Administrator is responsible for performing daily monitoring of all hardware, systems, and server resources as well as providing support to internal users within a collaborative, team-based environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide support on all systems, network, telephony, and PC applications.
• Effectively monitor the ongoing performance, security, reliability and availability of all networks, firewall and security systems, Microsoft servers and virtual environments.
• Maintain and develop system documentation and procedures.
• Proactively identify potential network and system issues, as well as research and provide solutions for such issues.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in a computing discipline and/or substantial experience in IT support. Experience in the following is essential:

• Demonstrated experience of networking technologies and protocols.
• Demonstrated ability and experience in the installation, maintenance and configuration of Fortinet based network switches and firewalls.
• Demonstrated ability and experience in the installation, maintenance, and configuration of Microsoft based server and desktop operating systems.
• Good understanding of virtualisation technologies.
• Demonstrated experience of Cisco switching, routing, security, and telephony products
• Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to quality customer service.
• Work well as part of a team and independently.
