Nursery Hand

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Nursery Hand to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the nursery, including plant care, propagation, and customer service. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for horticulture.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the care and maintenance of plants, including watering, fertilising, pruning, and pest control
• Assist in the propagation of plants through seed sowing, cuttings, and grafting
• Assist in the organisation and maintenance of the nursery, including cleaning, stocking, and labelling
• Provide excellent customer service, including answering questions and assisting with plant selection
• Assist in the preparation of orders for shipment or delivery
• Operate and maintain nursery equipment, including hand tools, irrigation systems, and tractors
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a nursery or horticulture-related field preferred
• Knowledge of plant care and propagation techniques
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20kg
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
