Job Description - Operations Officer

Are you passionate about working collaboratively and making a positive impact on the lives of people with disabilities? Join the dynamic team with our client as an APS5 equivalent Operations Officer.

  • APS5 equivalent 55+ p/h + super
  • Located in Chermside, Queensland
  • Up to 12 months with potential to extend, pending business and performance requirements.

About the Team
Join the dynamic Operations and Housing Support Branch, where you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the planning network through the delivery of core initiatives and projects. Our branch enables front-line service staff to excel by providing strategic advice, capacity building, and continuous improvement activities.



About the Role
As an APS5 Operations Officer, you'll undertake moderately complex to complex work with accountability under limited supervision. Guided by legislation, policies, and precedents, you'll provide invaluable support to our team. This role involves considerable contact with internal and external stakeholders, where you'll offer advice and resolve inquiries.

  • Provide Home and Living secretariat support for all Home and Living decisions.
  • Support Agency teams with Home and Living inquiries.
  • Resolve issues and complaints related to participant Home and Living applications.
  • Lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Manage, interpret, and analyse data to inform strategic and operational planning.
  • Contribute to achieving key performance indicators and planning targets.
  • Monitor and action correspondence, assigning and actioning internal work items.
  • Coach, mentor, and support staff on technical, operational, and administrative activities.

About you
To thrive in this role, you need:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow work instructions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including issue resolution.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and analysing data to support operations.
  • Experience using Business System, PACE.
  • Previous experience in a Secretariat Role.
  • Be able to pass and hold a national police check and worker screening check.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen.
