Job Description - Principal Technology Officer

About you: 

You are experienced in Administration Leadership and have demonstrated analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to work in a team environment. You have high-level consultation, facilitation, written and oral communication skills, and expertise working collaboratively with stakeholders to get results in a complex healthcare environment.

Your opportunity: 

To provide high-level results driven data, reporting and information direction and timely support and advice to CHHHS stakeholders. Implement, maintain, and manage data management systems, infrastructure, services, and applications to enhance and support the delivery of high-quality patient care.  Manage local and cloud-based ICT data services, databases and data storage including managed services, software, and licencing to ensure service levels are achieved with minimum disruption to service availability.

Your role: 

  • Provide a sound level of ICT technical expertise, advice, and administration to ensure compliance with departmental standards, CHHHS policies, procedures and processes, and IT Service Management (ITSM) to maintain the CHHHS Digital Health and HHS database services and infrastructure.
  • Provide effective and timely support to CHHHS stakeholders for local database applications and services through investigation and design of data repository and databases; and implement remedial actions to ensure service levels and quality standards are maintained.
  • Coordinate and/or assist in performance testing of physical and virtual database server components and solutions.
  • Assist in the delivery of Digital Health and ICT related services and projects for CHHHS managed and local applications and systems by utilising appropriate service and project management methodologies.
  • Test, implement, and maintain new and existing applications and systems whilst adhering to Queensland Health's change and release processes including data migration and data packaging.
  • Work with stakeholders and Technical Leads in the design, modelling, and delivery of physical and virtual servers, database, and data storage infrastructure.
