Program Kaartdijin has been established to develop a functionally fit, technologically robust solution to replace the current School Information System (SISClassic) and include additional information capture and reportability. The Program focuses on providing short term solutions as well as a longer-term solution that meets the operational needs of schools and the reporting and management needs of the Department at large. The Program vision is to provide a contemporary administrative and finance solution connecting people, processes and systems for school communities now and into the future.

The new Kaartdijin Solution will replace the SISClassic suite of applications currently used in 800+ schools throughout Western Australia. The Department has contracted TechnologyOne as the provider of the core finance functionalities and Compass Education as the provider of the billing, student administration and school administration functionalities for schools.

Program Kaartdijin is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Project Manager for the Program Management Office (PMO).

This role will be required to work closely with other Project Managers and Team Leads to ensure timelines and deliverables are being tracked and progressed appropriately. This role will play a key part in tracking against and re-baselining the Program Schedule, reporting on milestones and managing Program Risks.

The successful applicant will be required to analyse student, school and system level data to inform strategic direction and provide options for action. It will be their responsibility to coordinate and support a consistent and rigorous approach to project management and risk assessment for projects of Program Kaartdijin.

Eligibility and Training Requirements

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
