We are currently seeking applications for Senior Claims Management Officer to join the Claims Management team at Super SA, Department of Treasury and Finance

There are multiple roles available, including one ongoing vacancy and two term contracts of up to 12 months.

Remuneration: ASO5 – Salary Range ($84,522 - $94,003 p.a.)

About the opportunity

The Senior Claims Management Officer works in the Claims Management team and is mainly responsible for the case reviews process and provide support and training to Claims Management team members.

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in case reviews, complaint resolution, external dispute resolution and litigation matters, within the delegated authority, on behalf of Super SA with key external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the resolution of escalated matters, complaints, and interactions with legal practitioners and other member representatives as directed.
  • Providing training, support, guidance and expert advice to Claims Management team members, and where required, identify and implement any training needs to continually support the development of individuals
  • Provide and coordinate a high quality, effective and accurate claims administration services to members and Government Agencies
  • Maintain accurate confidential case files and data for the purposes of compiling information to measure and monitor the performance of the Claims Management teams.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Proven ability to effectively communicate, influence and negotiate with a diverse range of people at various levels (both orally and in writing), including claimants, medical and legal practitioners.
  • Demonstrated objective dealings with sensitive and contentious matters and maintain confidentiality, tact, sensitivity and empathy when communicating with internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of medical and legal terminology associated with the factors influencing the management of injuries/ illnesses.
  • Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, and in using multiple software programs/databases at once.
  • Previously worked in superannuation or claim management roles.
  • Knowledge of superannuation and the schemes offered by Super SA.
  • RG146 (Superannuation Industry) compliant (or willingness to attain)
