About the Role:

As Project services and package cost engineer you will provide the services and packages cost controls support.

 

This role will report to the WRL PMO Project Controls Manager as part of the AusNet Development and Future Growth division (AusNet DFN) - with a base location in Melbourne CBD.

 

We are a flexible and truly hybrid workplace.

 

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Develop, maintain and report on project services costs including administration of staffing plans and resourcing budgets for the project team. This scope includes preparing and updating the staffing plan forecasts, hours and costs to include the latest updated information. Complete analysis and provide commentary on movement between Services costing updates.
  • Cost engineering support to project packages including change management control and forecasting package cost and cashflows. In addition when required implement package deliverable-based tracking (earned value) metrics and reporting including identifying, documenting and mitigating cost impacts.
  • Updating of cost engineering software e.g. ECOSYS
  • Influence continuous improvement through methods such as post-implementation evaluation and assessment of results against project plans; actively collaborate to share insights and wins with others.
  • Build the foundations required to move at pace by looking beyond what we do today and testing new ways of doing things.
  • Embody a safety-first culture through contributing to Recordable Injury Frequency Rate targets, Safety and environment incident reporting and team mental health awareness.

 

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Comprehensive experience in Project Controls in Infrastructure or Energy (Engineering, Procurement and Construction experience a bonus).
  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management or Quantity Surveying is preferred.
  • Expert level competency of using cost control software such as ECOSYS.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Power BI, and risk analysis tools is advantageous.
  • A high level of organisational skills and demonstrated effectiveness handling multiple tasks, setting priorities, managing timeframes and meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • Good proficiency in using Microsoft word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Sound understanding of project management practices.
